I Scream... You Scream

This was a normal weekend.  Saturday- Ahliana and I got up both of us drank our juice...her apple...me coffee. Then we headed out for the day.  First we decided to go for Ice Cream at Sonic.  Ahliana is by no means a deprived child but we don't 'treat" ourselves to ice cream often.  She was in heaven.  I took a bite and she got so upset... she said "no, put it back mommy".  Oh baby mommy can't put the ice cream in her belly back on your cone.  Then to wear off some of her newly found sugar high energy we went to the park to slide and climb.

See snapfish pictures to the side...

On Sunday we went on a family bike ride.  I don't know what encouraged Keith to do it but we did.  We hooked Ahliana's little chariot to the back of Keith's bike and off we went.  It was wonderful!!  We had a great ride and with the breeze it really was not that bad... my bottom hurts like hell now from the seat but it was worth it.  I need one of those extra large cushioned seats...lol

On a slight sour note... our a/c went out on Sunday late afternoon.  This made for a VERY long evening.  Thankfully we have a window unit that we purchased in 2008 when Ike (our last hurricane) blew through.
Thank goodness for Ike??? and my husbands need to stay cool!!!

Ugly huh...and ohhhh soooo loud! But ohhhh so cool!!

Memorial Day Festivities/3 in 1

Saturday, May 29, 2010
We went to a very special birthday party over our Memorial Day weekend.  It was for Kade who was turning 4.  Kade is the son of my best friend Kathy and it has been amazing watching him grow into the young little man he is growing into.  It is always one of my favorite events to go to every year.  Over the years I have adopted Kathy & Kenny's family as my own and they are such a very speical group of people.  They have all been wonderful to me and especially my little Ahli.

The party theme this year was Monster Truck.  I've got to tell you... when the Brown's have a party they go all out... last year it was a train theme and they had a train ... so yes, you guessed it, this year it was a monster truck " Big Red" parked in their drive.... it was a blast!!  Only the adults got to go for a ride for legal reasons (no car seat) but they all climbed in it and boy did they pretend.  It made a lot of little people VERY happy.

My Cutie... ♥

This is how you get in the truck...not an easy task...

Hello Handsome!!

Going for a ride

Sunday, May 30
Sunday we had a BBQ at our party pad.  It was nice to get all of the family and some of our extended family (neighbors and friends) together.  We have a small inflatable pool that we set up in the backyard so that Ahliana and Miles could go swimming.  Miles is Uncle E Godson and he is ADORABLE!!  He Loves Ahliana and they really play well together...that is when I can get Ahliana to share.....ohhhh the beautiful two'sss.  Amber was kind enough to swim with the two little monsters...she either really likes these two or she is a gluten for punishment.  I think they all had fun!

Keith smoked a brisket and grilled a few chicken breasts...Can I just say delicious!!!  To go with our meal we had Mama's homemade potato salad, pico, beans, and dessert...lots and lots of dessert.  We had Nina's Strawberry Shortcake with cool whip, Wendy's brownies and cookies, and MiMi ... ooooohhh MiMi ... Cinnabuns with extra frosting.  I think that I have gained 10lbs just writing about it all.  But seriously I ate so much between Saturday and Sunday that I was nausiously full.  I just could not stop eating the deliciousness that we set before me.. it was like I had never eaten before.

Monday, May 31
Monday we did not step foot out of the house... no really we didn't.  I don't even think we got out of our pj's until after nap time.  We were all so exhausted but I was still able to get caught up on laundry (which was an all day chore) and we cleaned from the day before.  Poor Ahliana I am sure that she was extremely bored... what do you do??!!??  I think we all need days like this.

I would like to say a special Thank You!! to ALL the military people that we know and don't know. Because of you we have freedom and peace of mind that all will be okay. You risk your lives daily so we can live ours peacefully ... a debt that I can never repay.
A special shout out to our neighbor, brother, and beloved friend that left for his 4th tour of duty in May - Uncle B you are our hero and our friend we want you to know that we miss you and we love you! We pray for you daily and count down the days until your safe return.

The Zoo

We love taking Ahliana to the zoo.  We try to take her a couple times a year.  This is our third visit in the last year and it is amazing how different she reacts every time.  This year she did a lot of walking and she had a better understanding of what the animals were.  She knew the giraffes and the elephants and of course the monkeys.

That night as I gave her a bath she told me she was a sea lion... which is funny because when she looked at the sea lions she told me they were turtles...so innocent and silly.  Yes baby you are like a sea lion in the bath.

DELICIOUS!!!

The Beach

We had a beautiful vacation week.  The weather cooperated it was not to hot- not to wet...not perfect either but nice non-the-less... We were able to take a trip to beach and had a wonderful day.  Ahliana and daddy spent a lot of quality time together.  It was really beautiful to sit and just listen to them laugh together.  Keith is so patient with her and he is so good at teaching her new things.

Mothers Day

Mother's Day was nice and quiet at our house.  Yesterday was a fun filled birthday party so today was very low key and {shhhhhh} quiet.  Keith got up and cleaned the house while Ahliana and I just sat back and watched Little Bear and the Backyardagins (maybe we should have Ahli's parties the day before mothers day every year...not even possible but a nice thought...lol).  We did find the energy to go out into the yard for a little bubble and hammock time...then out to the front for some sunshine sprinkler fun... it is actually a sunflower but to Ahliana it is a sunshine...

Thank you Uncle Bruce and Aunt Lynn for the Bubble gun... I love it!!!

Of couse there are no pictures of me and my sweet baby girl on Mother's Day but all is good with that. I guess that is what I get for always being the picture taker...I am sure that most of you understand my pain.

Step away from the cake man...

Proud Daddy!!!

I can do it... I know I can!!
Thank you Uncle Bruce for my cool Ladybug Pinata..

Uncle Jon...Uncle Jon

Just look at that sweet face... What's wrong baby?
Don't know what I am doing...

Just cute to see all the "boys" in the kitchen...

Patiently waitng for their swing...

We had so much fun at Ahliana's 2nd birthday bash.  We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our life that made it out to celebrate with us.

We did get around to opening a few gifts that night.  Ahliana was so tired that it was a little difficult to keep her attention.  She had more fun trying to get in the bags then anything..lol.  She got a lot of lovely gifts and we are so very grateful!!

Where is Ahli??

Anniversary

Last Saturday, May 01, Keith and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary.  Ahliana stayed the night at my brothers.  Keith and I had big plans...me being able to get pretty without chasing after a 2yr old....going to a fancy dinner...adult beverages (you know the kind that I can't really have and chase after a 2yr old...b/c I am tooo old...lol) alone at last...lol.  Although we did not go back home after dropping off Ahli {so I did not get to get pretty-hence not pics} and we did not go to our fancy dinner... we did have a wonderful time.  We went on a search for crawfish...yummy!!  If you are not from the south you are probably turning up your lip right about now...but man are they delicious!!  We found a restaurant that was in town and we were able to sit out on the patio.  We enjoyed our delicious "mud bugs", drank a few adult beverages, and had some wonderful conversation.

After dinner we made our way out to listen to Keith's big brother Bruce DJ.  We had so much fun.  Just relaxing on the patio, drinking our ice cold adult beverages...lol...and of course just laughing and cutting loose.

It is so crazy that we have only been married for 6 years (together for 8).  It feels as though we have gone through a lifetime of events together.  I am so lucky to have this man in my life now and forever.  Thanks for always being my rock even at times when you wish you could pick one up and just throw it at me...that's love!
