The Good,The Bad, & The Ugly....

We had such a great time at the sandbox on that Saturday evening but hours later our little P-Pod was not feeling so well (nothing to do with the sandbox I am sure).  It is so crazy that little ones can be fine and feverless one minute and have a temp of 104 the next.  We had a really slow needy Sunday.  On Monday we went to the doctor and we were told that it was something viral not to worry ... it comes with daycare...UHGGG!!!  REALLY!!!  Like it is not bad enough that my kid spends more time there then at home.  On Tuesday we stayed home too and I was sure that she was on the up and up... Then why did we end up rushing her to the ER on that very night.  Ahliana was sicker then I have ever seen her and she could not stop coughing which in turn kept her from breathing.  I was so scared! They put her on a breathing machine at the hospital to try to help her oxygen level and took chest x-rays.  A few hours later we were told that she had pneumonia...WHAT!!  How did that happen?  Needless to say we were home for the rest of the week.  We had a doctors appointment on Friday and her breathing was still a slight concern so she had to continue her breathing treatment (we have a nebulizer at home) and she had a double ear infection...but she just got tubes!!  I swear I do not have a sickly little child nor do I send her to a filthy daycare...I am told that some children just have "weaker" immune systems then other and not to worry she would probably grow out of it... Let's just hope I don't loose my job first ☺.  By Friday Ahliana and I had some serious cabin fever and just needed to be around people so after our doctors visit we did a little retail therapy...

The Sand Box /The Calm B4 the Storm

On Saturday March 6th Keith and I wanted to go someplace to eat that was "kid friendly".  Ahliana is at the age that she does not sit still for long periods of time so now we plan dinner spots around her...like all good parents should so that others are not bothered by them...right??  Don't get me wrong...she is a wonderful child but she is also almost 2...enough said!! 

This was a beautiful Saturday one of the first we have had in awhile so Keith and I also wanted to eat outside.  We ended up picking a resturant called Willie G's.  They really do not have the best food in town but they do have a fabulous sandbox.  We were able to get a table that was almost in the sandbox...no really, it was that close.  Ahliana and I kicked off our shoes and began to play.  We had so much fun and she really loved the sand.  She was all smiles...which in turn makes us all smiles!  Here are just some fun pics that we took.

A Letter From the Teacher

I know she is not even 2 yet... but every year the school that she attends fill out a Child Development Summary Profile. For the last 2 years I have been so proud.  The teachers say such wonderful things about my child (which I am sure they do for every child) and it just makes me very proud to be her mom.  This is what this years letter said:
    

Ahliana has the most unique personality I have ever known in a child her age.  She is eager to learn anything that is new to her and has the drive to perfect it.

Her language skills are that of an older child, she seems to aquire knowledge without trying and retains all of it.

Ahliana is very social, considerate of her friends and has great manners.  I'm looking forward to see her growth in the coming years.

The Katy Rodeo

This weekend was a rodeo extravaganza for my family. My niece is one of the Katy Cowgirls (I am so proud of you Ashley) so we spent Saturday cheering her on. We headed out early Saturday morning to go see her and Bonnie Blue ridin in the parade.

We got there a little early so we were able to enjoy some donuts - Ahliana's favorite..donut holes- and my nephew (Tyler) warmed up with a little hot chocolate while we waited. The parade finally started and my niece was one of the first to pass us by... after her followed the band, flags, 3 large trucks filled with FFA students, several trucks, tractors, every church, dance studio, daycare, and hair salon in the town of Katy...my point is that was the longest parade EVER!!!! But to see my niece and the rest of my family made it all worth while. The parade really was a lot of fun. Ahliana enjoyed spending time with Tyler, Aunt Sandi, Uncle Jon, and of course mom and dad.

She danced to the beat of the band and loved seeing all the ballerina's. She also had her very first lollipop or two.. and loved them!! We left the parade buckled her in her seat and she was out within minutes. She feel asleep with Tyler on one side of her seat and Aunt Sandi on the other... when she woke up they were gone... she just looked up and said Tyler gone? It was so cute and so sad all at the same time.

Later that evening Grandma joined us and we went to the actual Katy Rodeo. They started a little early and I almost missed Ashley. Keith had to drop us off at the gate while he parked the Tahoe just so I could see her. That probably worked to my advantage because I got to stand right in front of her. I was yelling so loud and telling her I loved her while Ahli was blowing her kisses (sweetness). I can not lie the whole thing made me a little emotional. She is so grown up and she looked so beautiful out there on Bonnie Blue. I just can't believe she will be 16 in just a couple short weeks...where does the time go? The only disappointment was that I could not get my camera out in time to take pics. With the stands being full we ended up standing in "the pit" where all the cowboys and cowgirls prepare to go out into the arena. It was a lot of fun and Ahliana had a blast...at least for the first hour...then she just started to get tired.

I must say she was the cutest kid there (I know I am biased..but she really was looking very cute ☺).

 She was able to see all the horses and cows and a nice gentleman even let her sit on his miniature horse named Bella. While sitting in the stands with my family, and very tired, she notice the carnival...or in Ahli terms... the toys...lol.

I brought jammies so before we loaded up I quickly changed her (and I do mean quickly because it was chilly).  Then we placed her in her seat...buckled her up and she was out!! Long fun day!!
          

Ohhhh Sick Days...

So the school called me last Monday to let me know that Ahliana had a fever. This is becoming a weekly norm for us. They send her home with a fever that lasts about a minute...no really... and then we can not take her back for 24 hours. It is sad but it has really become difficult on Keith and I just because it happens so often...and Ahli really is not a sickly child. This last time I took her to the doctor's office and then took her to work with me for a couple of hours (until Keith could come pick her up and take her home). It was my first day back from a week long vacation so taking the day off just was not a good idea... bringing her to work was not really an ideal situation either but I really didn't have a choice. I am lucky that both the girls I work with love Ahliana and they don't mind (so they say) helping me entertain her for a few. This time Jessica was off so Darlene had to help with all the entertainment...which she really is good at. She came prepared with a purple grape ball that really smells like grape, a Whinnie the Pooh snap bracelet, and a light wand. Ahli plays with them all. She even had to give the light wand to the director at the school today because she did not want to leave it in the car... cuteness!!  Please notice the picture where she has shoved the Christmas ornament in the pretzel container and then the one of the Christmas ornament smashed on the floor... just one of the reasons it is not ideal to bring your kid to work. LOL

Today was rodeo day at school. She wore the cutest little outfit (minus the ruffle socks and the tennis shoes..I need to buy her some boots) that Aunt Sandi, Ashley, and Tyler picked out about a year ago (Ahliana would not cooperate this morning so the picture below is not the best). I am so glad I remembered it because it fits her perfectly right now and we have a lot of Rodeoing to do this weekend. My neice is in the Katy rodeo and tomorrow we will be going to a parade in the morning and then going to the rodeo later in the evening. Ahliana is excited to see her cousin riding on Bonnie Blue... Ahley's horse.

My Lucky Star

I love this picture! To me this picture is so symbolic ... in my arms I am holding my lucky little star... I wonder if she will ever realize how many stars I wished upon before she became reality. I am so blessed to have this little angel and to be able to call her my daughter ♥

Ahliana's story is so special but when you meet this little girl you immediately know just how special she really is. She has got an undeniable sparkle in her eyes and a smile that will melt your heart ... she is beautiful inside and out, she is so very smart, she is funny, she is an all around happy baby girl ... my precious baby girl ... who could ask for anything more!!

The Park

Ahliana loves to go to the park. In the first couple of pictures that I have posted you will see her at Castle park with Kade. She loves to hang out with Kade and she tries so hard to keep up with him. I don't think that she fully understands that he is 2yrs older then her...it's okay baby one day. One of my favorite pictures is Kade pushing her in his dump truck... I really wish I would have gotten a picture of him actually dumping her out of it when he was done... it was priceless. The last two pictures are the two of us at the park right around the corner from our house. It really is a boring little park but if I can chase her around and wear her little butt out so she will take a good nap it is worth the walk..lol. She loves to climb, slide and play in the dirt...but she really has a dislike for the swing or any of those freaky little animals that are like rocking horses???
